SPAT (Student Progression and Transfer)

SPAT is a 36 month Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) funded project under the FDTL initiative. The aim is to promote effective student progression between the levels of Higher Education and transfer across institutional and programme boundaries. The project will produce guidance materials for staff and students that will be available for widespread dissemination.

The Learning Development Unit evolved from the University's Learning and Teaching Strategy and was set up on lst November 2000 following the appointment of an Acting Head. Its role is to act as a central resource and focus for staff to obtain information and support in all areas of learner and curriculum development. The Learning and Teaching Committee is responsible for developing the framework and remit of the Learning Development Unit and it is monitored through the Strategic Management Group.
