The Book That Never Was

This is the outline for a book about a series of initiatives twenty years ago which shaped much of the progress that has been made in higher education since then and which has lessons for those grappling with similar work today. The CRA gathered together a group of people who were at the forefront of change at that time and whose names will be familiar to members. They include Stephen McNair, Freda Tallantyne, Norman Evans, Peter Newby, Frank Lyons, Alison Assiter, Clive Robertson and Rob Ward. The proposal aroused much interest from potential publishers but none were prepared to support it. Nevertheless, even this draft outline of the book will be of interest to members, particularly those unfamiliar with the exciting work described.
