A wide range of institutions now offer opportunities for the verification and accreditation of achievements derived from engagement with co-and extra-curricular activities. These reflect, to differing extents, concerns with graduate employability, with engaging and supporting students in making the most of their time in HE, and with approaches which stress the importance of university engagement with social action and volunteering in the local community.
