HEFCE Employer Engagement
HE5P Project
This Project will directly and systematically support policy development for the UKHE sector by ensuring that the learning and support needs of part-time, discontinuous, work-based learners are given full recognition alongside more traditional learners. It will do this by establishing a national community of practice of HEIs and employer and trades union partners who will work collaboratively to:
- Ensure that practice in Personal Development Planning/e-portfolio supports this new and developing group of learners by implementing and evaluating systems and approaches tailored to their particular needs and requirements;
- Develop and disseminate best practice in using e-portfolio technology to support employer and employee engagement in higher level learning;
- Provide feedback to policy makers to ensure that the needs and requirements of such learners are fully taken into account in the implementation of national policy surrounding employer engagement, implementation of the Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) by academic year 2010/11 and the revision of Guidelines for Personal Development Planning being led by the QAA.
